1. Who are we?

FIVS is a not-for-profit association under the French Law of 1st July 1901 established at 43-47 Avenue de la Grande Armée, 75116 Paris, France.

FIVS's purpose is to manage an information website on the regulation of wine and to send periodic newsletters.

In the framework of our activities, we collect and process personal data, i.e. information that allows us to personally identify individuals (hereafter “you”). As data controller, we respect our users’ privacy and apply all appropriate technical and organisational measures to prevent, to the extent possible, any unauthorised disclosure, destruction, loss, alteration, access, or use of your data (in accordance with Article 32 GDPR).

We collect and process personal data in full compliance with French and European legislation, in particular the General Data Protection Regulation (EU) 2016/679 and the French Data Protection Act (Loi Informatique et Libertés), as amended.

2. Scope of this policy

This Privacy Policy informs you about which personal data we collect, for what purposes, how long we retain them, with whom they may be shared, your rights as a data subject, and how to contact us regarding privacy matters.

By using our services, you acknowledge that you accept the terms of the present Privacy Policy.

3. Which personal data do we collect?

As a general rule, FIVS only collects personal data strictly necessary to provide information to its subscribers and to ensure access to regulatory and statistical databases. This may include:

  • Connection details: login, password, authorisation, IP address, connection logs, and technical location data derived from IP routing.

4. Why do we collect your personal data?

FIVS collects and processes your personal data in order to:

  • Maintain an up‑to‑date members and subscribers database.
  • Send relevant information and documents.
  • Contact you to invite you to meetings and events.
  • Ensure continuous access to information for which you have authorised access.

5. How long do we keep your personal data?

We retain your personal data only for the duration necessary for the purposes described in this Policy. Data that are no longer required are deleted or anonymised.

When you send us an e‑mail, we use your e‑mail address solely to administer and respond to your request.

You may request deletion of your personal data at any time (see point 8). Please note that this may prevent access to certain information provided by FIVS.

6. Do we transfer your personal data?

We do not sell, trade or rent your personal data to third parties. Data is accessible only to accredited persons responsible for editing and managing the website www.fivs.org.

If we needed to transfer your personal data outside the EU, we would make sure that the recipient shows appropriate guarantees of a sufficient level of data protection (Articles 44–46 GDPR).

In case of dispute, we favour dialogue and are open to amicable resolution.
