UN ratification of the Political Declaration (PD) on the Prevention and Control of Noncommunicable Diseases (NCDs)

The PD, among others, renews the global commitments in the 2010 Global Strategy to Reduce the Harmful Use of Alchol and in the 2022 Global Alcohol Action Plan.

FIVS members remain firmly committed to addressing the harmful alcohol use, while supporting the sustainable and responsible production and marketing of wine worldwide.

The Declaration underscores that the most effective public health approaches focus on harmful drinking and highlights the essential role of collaboration among governments, civil society and the private sector.

FIVS welcomes this reaffirmation of an inclusive, evidence-based approach, which enabled meaningful private-sector contributions to global efforts to reduce the hamful use of alcohol.
