Highlighting the unwavering commitment of our members

In light of Earth day this past week, and as the global voice of wine, FIVS is proud to highlight the unwavering commitment of our members in New Zealand to a sustainable future in winemaking.

For over 30 years, New Zealand’s wine industry has been a leader in environmental stewardship, innovation, and quality.

The newly released 2025 New Zealand Winegrowers Sustainability Report offers a data-driven look at their progress across six key areas: climate change, water, people, soil, waste, and plant protection.

With 98% of vineyard area and 90% of production certified by Sustainable Winegrowing New Zealand (SWNZ), the report showcases not only commitment—but action.

While we may be here for a short time, our impact can last longer than a lifetime.

A powerful reminder that sustainability is about legacy—and the New Zealand wine industry is leading by example.
